By William Kitchens
Danny Ray Cole was chosen as the recipient of the 2004 "Musician of
the Year" by the ASE (Atlanta Society of Entertainers).
ASE
co-founders Johny Carson (yes, his real name and correct spelling)
and Phyllis Cole (no relation) awarded Danny Ray personally at the
annual event held on August 22, 2004 at the Radisson Northlake.

Previous award winners include country music
Mercury Records recording artist Mark Wills and American Idol
finalist, Diana DeGarmo.

Accepting the award in his kilt
and family Coat of Arms, Danny was honored for his contributions to
the Atlanta arts community in bluegrass, country and celtic music.
'If one word describes my
music it would be happy" says Danny Ray Cole. "Not crazy or
loud, but just good clean fun live music."
"My Daddy always liked
bluegrass music because it was happy music" Danny also noted.
Danny's father who
passed away a few years ago would certainly be proud of his son's
"Musician of the Year" award and the other achievements he has
attained.
Like the music and the son he
loved so much, Danny Ray Cole's father would indeed be "happy".
